We are excited to announce that BSD faculty and staff can now install Windows 11 on compatible computers through a self-service option. This approach allows you to choose the most convenient time for the upgrade; there is no need to schedule with BSDIS. Simply follow the instructions available at "Windows 11 Upgrade Self-Service Instructions" to initiate your upgrade.
BSD has over 5,000 computers that must be upgraded to Windows 11 by the end of October 2025. We aim to reach 70% completion by the end of March 2025 to allow technical staff ample time for more complex upgrades, as well as to deploy new hardware purchased by departments to replace equipment that is not compatible with Windows 11.
Throughout January and into early February, please follow the self-service instructions to upgrade at your earliest convenience. Starting in mid-February, BSDIS-TSS technicians will work through each department to upgrade as many computers as possible by the end of March. Although there will be some flexibility during this time, it will be limited. We strongly encourage you to take advantage of the self-service option in January and early February to ensure the highest level of convenience with your upgrade to Windows 11.
